I definitely agree!

The colors in your dresden are beautiful. I have seen the butterfly fabric and LOVE it! The colors are perfect for your quilt. Every time I see it I keep wishing I had a little girl to sew for! ;-)

luce321 07-05-2011 02:46 PM

I think the fabric goes very well with the plates and the fussy cut butterfly in the center is very pretty, sparkles and all.

quiltingcousin 07-05-2011 02:54 PM

I like the "bling".......it looks perfect for your dresden plates.....You might come to love it if you give it a go....

FroggyinTexas 07-05-2011 03:20 PM

I've got this fabric and haven't used it because I couldn't think what to do with it except admire it. You've given me a great idea. That fussy cut is perfect for Dresden plates. froggyintexas

Ruby the Quilter 07-05-2011 04:14 PM

I think once you get if finished you will like the touch that the sparkles give the centers.

ajohn52 07-05-2011 04:23 PM

It matches perfectly with your project. I bought some of that material and made my DGD a summer outfit.

owlvamp 07-05-2011 04:24 PM

The butterfly fabric is a great match .

donna13350 07-05-2011 04:46 PM

I just bought some of this for a project I am doing, but I have to say that I agree with everyone else...the fabric you already have is just perfect...but in the end...you have to thinks so...Donna

Might be cute to pop those centers with white circles then applique on the butterflies. I've seen a solid white with sparkles that would bring the sparkles into each Dresden too.
(In addition to the butterfly applique of course).

granma1 07-05-2011 05:26 PM

What size dresdan plate is that?

Keep the sparkles; they "go".

delores wright 07-05-2011 07:38 PM

i think i saw it at joann's just the other day it was with the sparkle fabric djw

Katiequiltsalot 07-06-2011 01:43 AM

I think it's absolutely gorgeous and I think it matches just beautiful.I usually don't like those softer colors, but that will be a perfect blend. I think the sparkles will give it some pizzaz !!!

margecam52 07-06-2011 11:39 AM

I find that the "frost" will soften, as will the feel of the fabric, once it's been washed a few times. I wouldn't prewash it, unless the fabric in the plates was also prewashed.

The butterfly fabric is perfect...When you quilt it, use a 40 wt poly thread with some sheen. A bright white or baby colors pastel varigated would be really pretty.

Do they make this fabric without the sparkles - I really dont like the texture of this fabric.

If not I am open to suggestions for this dresdan.

Thanks cheryl

I love it! I think it is perfect!

Kim Bohannon 07-06-2011 03:59 PM

Ooooohhhh, that is sooo pretty with the sparkly butterfly in the center of your dresden! I relly like it!

The sparkly fabrics are a different texture, but they are really pretty.

Gerbie 07-06-2011 07:56 PM

If you can't find a circle the right size, try using a biscuit cutter, or cookie cutter. They might be the size you need. I have that butterfly fabric and love it. I personally think it goes great with your dresden fabrics and think it will make the rest of the fab. pop.Where did you find the rest of your fab you used for the dresden? What line is it?

katigirl 07-07-2011 12:17 AM

What beautiful shades. Post when done. we want to see.

gus 07-07-2011 03:39 AM

I used this fabric for a baby quilt and really had no problems with it I found it at Joann's Not sure if then have it without the sparkle. I think it looks nice with yours

ratherhaverain 07-07-2011 11:13 AM

I've been able to remove either glitter or gold etching (can't remember) from fabric by wiping it with a cotton ball soaked in acetone. Do it outside since the stuff is flammable. Try it on a small piece if you are still not sure you will like it as is.

The sparkle fabric with the fussy cut butterfly really makes the Dresdan Plate pattern "pop". I love it!

pjnesler 07-08-2011 01:25 PM

I like it, I think if you made it up this way it woud be very nice!

sisLH 07-08-2011 02:00 PM

Sorry I dont know the line of fabrics since I bought the dresdans already done from ebay - When I purchased them way back when I had contacted the seller and she said she just does them to get rid of her end of bolts and didnt have the name of manufacturer since she had thrown the bolt away!!! I had wanted to buy extra fabric from her.
