I agree with leaving the selvage on. To me its like documenting the quilt just like a label does.

Well, the top is finished but not sandwiched or quilted----still a UFO. It was one of the very first quilts I made and didn't have a clue how to quilt it, so put it away. I was just thinking of it and a couple of other UFOs a couple of weeks ago and got it out to finish. My goal is to get them done by New Years Day.

That clean-slate feeling is good, isn't it? It's something I remember from the distant past.

Yes, it may be wishful thinking however, especially if I decide to do this year's Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt that starts the Friday after Thanksgiving. Never have done a mystery quilt before, and her style isn't my fav, but I am sure to learn some things from it so am planning to try it. Maybe I will take the easy way out and give the bookcase quilt to my long arm quilter to do---but have been afraid to give it to her in case she will turn me down, as it is quite irregular and has lots of bumps in it from all the little improv piecing. Any ideas on how to quilt it?

I make wall hangings and quilts from selvedges. I have added pics on QB of my selvedge quilts, look the up. I am utterly obsessed sewing with them.
