MY questiom is or would be just how well has this machiine been taken care of if no attachments?
Make sure you test it out first on whatever you will be sewing with it. All we quilters need for piecing is a good straight stitch. Main thing is can you adjust the stitch lenght. Some of the machines will only do set lengths.
Good luck and yes many A time I have needed more than one machine...

it's a mixed blessing to share your studio with dd & ddil...sometimes i want them to get out so i can be alone, but when i just had to bring my machine in, i got to keep right on sewing....

life is good!

My wife was laughing at this thread thinking about all of my machines I have here. Being a collector I have quite a few and then some.

Last count I had roughly 45 of them (all treadles but one) and the collection is growing by leaps and bounds so there is really not a shortage of machine in this house!

I agree with your love of machines. I came home from work one day to find a machine sitting on my porch. I carried it in, clean and oiled it, made a few adjustments and had it running like a dream but no one called to claim it or ask about it. It was a mystery for about two weeks until I ran into a man at the gas station that said, "Did you find a sewing machine on your porch?" "Yes, is it your's?" "No, I heard you collected machines so I brought it to you." I said "thanks" and still have it years later---and it still runs like a dream. The prize of my collection is a small antique portable that has a porcelain "handle" that flips out from a wheel on the right hand side of the machine. You have to turn it with your right hand and sew with your left. It's from Germany, is in a square wooden case with beautiful inlay, and has a Mother of Pearl inlaid rose in the center of the throat base.

I too have several old singers off craigs list , I have a 201, 66, fetherweight, and an old kenmore...I love these better than mu more expensive machines also.
Some I got for free and some for about 30.00.
So good Luck!
