It looks like a string kaleidoscope. I have seen many different types of blocks called kalidoscope.

Beautiful! What a wonderful way to use up scraps.

Thanks for the link, Harriet. I was going to cut all squares & rectangles, but I think I will try the Spider.

How special! I can't wait to see what you decide to do with them.

Great call and reference Harriet.

This reminds me of the 121 pieces of Grandmother's flower garden I inherited. Still looking for inspiration on how best to use them and maximize their value. The fabrics date back to the 30's

I agree about the inherited quilt pieces....applique them onto another block to set off their beauty. |
Thanks for your idea.

They are beautiful. I can't believe the work that went into making them. You are so fortunate to have gotten them.

I'm not sure what pattern it is. I just wanted to suggest that you could make pillows out of each piece. Or you could applique each piece to a square and sew them together for a quilt. If you don't have very many, then you could make other squares to surround the Pinwheel. You could also cut out triangles and sew them around the edges?? and maybe add on other squares/triangles as you go. kind of like a crazy quilt/log cabin. The pieces are gorgeous and so unique. Good luck.
