I use a lot of batiks -- a way to use the stripey ones -- Borders, piano key style. Cut across the stripes and sew on. It gives a pieced look when you do not want to take the time. I use them often when making children's quilts that will be washed often I like the striped look.

I would also use it as a background for a day at the beach or put mountains, trees etc to make it a beautiful country scene.

Oh, I love this block! What beautiful work you've done. I'm in the design stage now of a quilt that I want to put a block with loons in. Yours has inspired me. Thanks. I really love batiks, especially in landscapes!
