I don't prewash, but I do soak and spin the batting, then into the dryer until just damp, lay out flat until dry. I have also taken it into the shower with me, roll up in a towel to get the excess water out and a quick spin in the washer. Again, pop into the dryer. I have gotten busy and let it fully dry in the dryer with no problems. I tried the spritzing with water and then dry but it didn't shrink and when I washed the whole quilt it did, so that trick didn't work for me. Really depends on what finished look you want.

No, I don't prewash batting.

It depends on how you want your finished quilt to look. If you like the antique crinkly look, don't prewash the batting. If you want the finished quilt to be smoother, then prewash the batting to get the initial shrinkage done ahead of time.

I'm not a pre-washer either. Wastes too much time and I like the crinkle look. Makes them look comfy.

I don't wash any of it, it makes it easier for me to work with it - that is just my preference.

Me too. I don't like the crinkled look. And I soak and dry in medium to hot (water and air).

I prewashed W&N cotton batting once, what a mistake! When I took it out of the dryer it was so linty I had a hard time working with it because it kept my eyes itchy and made a mess in my sewing room. I love the stuff, I just don't prewash any more.
