I don't throw my thread clippings on the floor....they are attached to what ever I am wearing. What eventually lands on the floor my Dyson sweeper picks up. I also have a roller with masking tape on it to pick up the leftovers.

I try to get the threads into the trash can or the thread catcher right next to my sewing machine, but there always seems to be strays.

I have a little scrap bag for the clippings and also a waste basket near my chair & sewing machine. Also a lint roller and scotch tape. I read how thread clippings can really tear up the insides of a cat. Can cause a major vet bill or could just kill the cat slowly and it would be too late when you did discover something was wrong. So therefore I want no threads anywhere that could harm our cat.

I use a thread catcher and the waste basket. I'm rather like "Monk" , I like stray threads as under control as possible.

I have a thread catcher, which collects most of the big pieces of thread. But, as for the floor. I have carpet too. But, I also have one of those plastic floor mats. It makes it easier to pick up the thread.

I aim for the basket, but the floor catches most of them!!

I have a small hard sided basket nest to one machine that helps but the ones we are restoring have a garbage can attached to the side of the desk. I tend to toss the threads in that general direction. Some hit the floor an and are easily cleaned off the carpet by rubbing my shoe across them causing them to ball up. Those o the desk are caught by the nonskid mat you can buy for shelf linng and no skid rugs.

In my studio I will toss them on the floor like my little snifflets of material. I sweep up real good after the project I have going on and sometimes if there are a lot of cuts and piecing I will sweep after everytime I finish up for the day. I am a neat freak so everything has to go back in its place and the studio nice and clean before each project.
