My machine very rarely gets hungry amd eats pieces. I just like making two quilts at once, especially if one is kind of boring or seems to go on and on and on.

Never on my vintage machines but frequently on my Janome 6500 especially when I do not have the stitching plate, single hole, in place.

Always, unless I am not starting at an end, which isn't very often.

The majority of time I use a leader. Someone (don’t remember who) on the board said that she uses her scraps as leaders and sews 2 pieces of fabric together for leaders. This way she is working on a scrap quilt while sewing another quilt. What a great idea!

I have a lot of HST's in a basket that I cut from my scraps on my accuquilt. I always have it by my machine to use as leaders and enders. When I have enough I make them into runners or mug rugs or what ever else I can think of

Always!!!! Makes everything very neat.

Never used L's and E's when sewing garments, but for quilting I do. Think it helps to avoid any lose on that 1/4" seam allowance.
Always use a straight stitch plate too.

Every time. Learned to do it when I started upholstering, and have been doing it for over 35 years. We call it a "bunny." I DO want to get a basket of leaders and enders started so I can actually accomplish something rather than just end up with a piece of scrap filled with thread!! :-)
