Yes, clean it, and crinkle.

I too wash mine when I am finished but that is to say that I have only finished some small baby size and one double bed size. For me, this gets rid of all my kitty hair and other assorted dust and dirt. I like how they come out so much softer.

No, I wash my fabric before I cut it. Since the only thing I do is steam material, I let whoever wash as they see fit. I spend a lot of time dusting and washing tables, floors, keeping my dog out of the room when I'm tieing. I wash my hands to keep oils off of fabric, and in the summer time I've made wtist to elbow cuffs to not soil the material when I quilt.

Please----Where did you find that pattern???? thanks for answering.

No, I don't wash my quilts after they are put together and quilted. I do prewash all my fabric--just incase of colors bleeding, especially the greens and reds. I do iron the finished quilt. Then let the receiving person wash it. I give instructions for care and keeping of a quilt with the quilt. Create a small gift tag/label as a pocket with instructions and info included in the pocket but I do label ,,, who, what , name of quilt, date, etc on the outside of the pocket. I have save myself alot of problems by prewashing my fabric. I have seen some tragic color runs with batiks, green and reds even using a color catcher. I omit all fabric that runs and use one that doesn't run, the ones that run I use for small projects after its washed enough to hopefully stop color running.

I don't. I like the look a quilt has when it is first made. If it is a baby quilt, I do.

I always wash the finished quilt. I like the crinkles and I like to know I'm starting off with a clean quilt.
