I have watched her many times and when I forget how to do something, I know right where to go to refresh my memory.

Jingle 05-14-2012 05:09 AM

I like Jenny also. I watched and made the pillowcases her way, they really turned out great. I think she works on a project alot to be able to make them all turn out so great. She really throws herself into working these patterns out. She is a natural, very talented Lady. So sorry to hear about the accident and I'm glad they are okay. Where in Missouri is the company?

Happy Linda 05-14-2012 05:25 AM

O yeah she's great.

laura59 05-14-2012 05:30 AM

I love watching her videos. She is a fantastic teacher. I have learned a lot from her.

kaylfordsollimo 05-14-2012 05:36 AM

Put me down as a huge Jenny Doan fan! She is terrific for all the reasons you've given and more. I've seen videos where she's had her daughter do some of the demos and you can just tell that relationship is a happy one. So Happy Mother's Day to her, too.

mlt150 05-14-2012 06:03 AM

I am a huge fan of Jenny Doan. I have watched all her videos and taken the Crafty ones also. I buy fabric on-line almost weekly and read everything on the website. My bucket list includes visiting the quilt shop!

craftymatt2 05-14-2012 06:03 AM

Joan Rosemary, i couldn't have said it better, i just love jenny, i have been quilting, and sewing for more than 35 years and i still learn something new from her, her excitement just makes me want to do everything she does, ever since she did a tute on pillowcases, i have been making loads of them for family and friends, and table runners, their so easy, i wish she would come on this board, we would have so much fun.

LOVE Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt and her you tube tutorials. Was on her MSQ "blog" a few minutes ago and read a post by her son that Jenny and her husband were in a serious auto accident this week. Fortunately they are OK, and the entire family is giving thanks that they were saved from the accident.

OMG, i am so glad they are ok, thank u for informing us, i will say prayers, God Bless

patdesign 05-14-2012 06:08 AM

Love to watch her vids when I have time, I have subscribed to them so that I know when she posts a new one. She does quite a lot.

ImMiksMom 05-14-2012 06:35 AM

Love her!! I stumbled on her tutorials a while back and refer back to them often. Glad to hear they are okay after their accident. I also follow MSQ on Pinterest!

bshcbus 05-14-2012 07:31 AM

I love Jenny also. She is the reason I am on this board. I took an class online from her website. I found out about this website from her website page. Most of my quilts that I have made came from her tutorials on youtube. I'm glad to hear that they are ok from the accident. My prayers are with them.

I agree-I love the MSQ site and I check it the first thing every morning. I order from the site and use her templates and love her ideas using jelly rolls and squares.

I was sorry to read of her accident-I wish her and her husband well and a speedy recovery. She is a special person and thanks to the internet she has touched many hearts.

She has so many tips and tricks to making blocks. She makes complicated looking blocks easy to make. She has the gift. And she is always so thrilled to share with everyone. I just can't get enough of her. I buy from her shop all the time just because of seeing all that beautiful fabric on her Youtube videos (all the quilts hanging on the wall behind her). And she has a way of describing how fantastically cute the fabric she is using is and I just can't help but order it.

I wonder if people email her or stop by her shop and tell her about an easier way to make a block or a new block altogether or a new tip on quilting in general. She is an entertainer and a very good teacher. Sometimes, I'll just sit and watch her different videos on Youtube for an hour or longer. I just love that gal. She has to be making a killing in the quilting business...plus all the other craftsy classes she has at www.craftsy.com. And she's just a really nice person. I just wondered how many others of you feel the same way I do about her.

Oh I love, love, love her ...I get the daily deal e-mail every day and buy quite a bit from her shop. Her videos are awesome and she is so down to earth and REAL......

kteall 05-14-2012 08:57 AM

Jenny is the greatest - so down to earth
- I love her simple approach to quilting. She make it so easy.

I did not hear about the accident. Special prayers are being sent for her, her husband and family. They have touched so many hearts with there natural warmth.

donna thomas 05-14-2012 09:09 AM

I just read that Jenny and her husband were in a bad accident last...she is fine now, but it was a very scary thing...it is on her blog...go to missouri quilt company and read it...She is such a nice person and I am glad that she is ok ...love her tutorials...learned alot of great tips from her

Alondra 05-14-2012 09:11 AM

Yep, I surely do love her. I've learned so much from her and Natalie, that I don't even know where to start. She's a jewel, for sure!

Alondra 05-14-2012 09:17 AM

Go to http://www.missouriquiltco.com or to www.youtube.com (and type in Missouri Star Quilt to call up all of her videos). She has one on bindings, working with layer cakes and other fabric bundles, quilting, as well as demonstrating how to make many types of quilts (Jacob's Ladder, etc). She's amazing. (No, I don't work for her... haven't even met her in person, but I feel like I know her - that's how well her personality and style come through.)

jerilee 05-14-2012 12:38 PM

Jenny's web site is MissouriStarQuilt.com. Her tutorials are on You Tube. She also had some classes on Craftsy and I believe someone said she is going to have a 4th one soon. And I think she has that effect on everyone, She really makes you feel like her best friend. I know a lot of beginners who adore her simply because they get what she is saying. Some teachers just can't get their point across as easy as she can. I am also left handed so she is easier for me to follow. If you haven't seen her show yet, check it out. She makes mistakes sometimes. corrects herself and
just keeps on going, she doesnt stop the camera and start all over. She is exactly like most quilters, laughs at her mistakes and keeps on going. Bet you can't watch just one of her shows............

reginalovesfabric 05-14-2012 12:40 PM

I love her too, have you seen the video on three dudes quilts. I sewed up some fall colored fabric that was already cut it was so neat...to watch it

jeanharville 05-14-2012 02:11 PM

I've watched her on you tube and taken her classes on Craftsy. It soulds like we're unanimous on our love and appreciation of Jenny.

Momo 05-14-2012 03:20 PM

I like Jenny also. Just watched her 12 min youtube on how to make the self binding baby blanket. Finished one although it took me longer than 10 minutes like she said it would take. She is very good.

ladyquilter5589 05-14-2012 03:20 PM

Jenny is a favorite of mine. She certainly has the gift of teaching. The only problem that I found is The Missouri Star Quilt Co has a Quilter's Daily Deal. I could become addicted to that.

Sewhappygal 05-14-2012 03:45 PM

I love and have learned so much from her. I really want to go to her shop someday.

butterflies5518 05-14-2012 03:56 PM

Count me in - her personality and love for quilting shine right thru! I really enjoy, watching, learning and feel I to can do it! She's a really down home personality. I have to have my morning fix with the Missouri Star Quilt Daily Deal!

newbiequilter 05-14-2012 04:01 PM

Yes I have seen her videos - many times. She is great - easy, funny and informative. I just read on the Missouri Quilt Co. site about the accident she and her husband were in recently. They definitely had someone watching out for them. Blessings to their family.

nannyrick 05-14-2012 04:34 PM

I have learned a lot from Jenny. I took two of her Craftsy classes and do watch her Utube videos.
She has such an easy teaching method. Explains everything so we newbies can understand.
I also buy quilte a bit of her "daily deals".

matraina 05-14-2012 04:49 PM

I've been in love with Jenny Doan for some time (don't tell my husband). Her tutorials are wonderful and she's very perky. Makes you feel the same way.

matraina 05-14-2012 04:53 PM

Also, Jenny and her husband own the Missouri Star Quilt Company and you can see all her tutorials there. I have seen 3 of her daughters do videos with her sometimes.

nstitches4u 05-14-2012 07:29 PM

I am a member of the Jenny Doan fan club too! lol. She is a great teacher. I have learned so much from her videos and I am taking her online classes at Craftsy. Her quilt shop is about 40 miles north of where I live. She is just as nice in person as she is on the videos.

lubberfarmgirl 05-14-2012 07:32 PM

Yes I also love her tutorials. So much fun!

Pilgrim 05-14-2012 07:35 PM

I first saw her tutorials by going to www.Missouriquiltco.com and all her tutorials are here for free. She is so down home as I call her and really shows you how to do a lot of things. Their templates are great as well.

vondae 05-14-2012 08:32 PM

I too, really enjoy her and her youtube videos. She make it all simple and down to earth. And, as a newbie, I NEED simple. She's grrrrreat!!! If you haven't watched here you are missing out.

EllenwoodGa 05-14-2012 09:41 PM

I enjoy her tuts, all are very informing. I watch her on you tube.

Sharbank 05-15-2012 05:42 PM

Jenny is fantastic!! Her tutorials are informative and short. She doesn't hemhaw around like so many of the other folks who do tutorials do. She is right to the point with shortcuts, great fabrics, wonderful patterns and a super great attitude!! I wish her all the best with her new shop they are working on now. I hated to hear that they were in an accident. Hopefully all are well and she will continue to teach the world to quilt quickly!!

MarleneC 05-15-2012 07:04 PM

I love Jenny, she makes everything look so easy even for a beginner like me. I know she has gotten some of her ideas from other shop owners and classes her daughter's have gone too--people like to share with her. I've watched every video she has put out.

msrosecooks 05-16-2012 03:10 PM

Jenny is so helpful and giving of herself in her tutorials.I have learned so much from her.She makes quilting and learning fun. She empowers me to try new things!

Donna in Mo 05-18-2012 08:39 AM

I love to watch Jenny's videos. She seems like an ordinary, fun loving, down-home kind of a person. Every time I watch a video, I want to get started and try to make that quilt. She is special! Haven't checked out Craftsy yet but will have to do it.
