I always sew without shoes on! I can't control the power speed with them. It can be quite comical I suppose, when I'm sewing in a group at church and I kick one shoe off to do it!

Barefoot, socks or slippers. When I put my shoes on the dogs think we are going somewhere. lol
|
I do wear Birks in the house but when I sew I automatically take off my one shoe to use the foot pedal. I do it without thinking. I cannot sew with my right shoe on. ROTFLMBO

Feet were not made for shoes, shoes are unnatural!! LOL

Always bare foot when sewing and my feet are always freezing - note to self, must get some slipper socks because ordinary slippers come off and I forget to put them back on. Glad I am not alone. I never wear shoes in the house.

I never wear shoes in the house, so yes I sew barefoot. Once at work I was sewing, and kicked my shoe off. They asked what I was doing. I said I cannot feel the petal with my shoe on. They laughed at me, but I can't help it.

Most definitly! So much easier! If I have shoes on (by some chance), they get kicked off under my sewing table. Then when I can't find a pair of shoes, all I have to do is look under the table!

I sew barefoot also. Took a class on Heirloom machine quilting with Harriet Hargrove and she suggested at least the foot that touches the pedal should be shoeless for best control. I too am barefoot in my home. Started when I moved from the East to Calif in late 70's. That's the way it is. Good lock with SiL. Dotti in LV

don't feel the pedal properly if I've got something on my feet.
