Around our house we call that "Monkey Toes!"

I rarely wear shoes inside, flip flops most of the time. Since I'm diabetic I have to have something on my feet.
If I'm sewing with my Featherweight, shoes have to come off so I can find the little button on the foot control.

I hate sewing with my shoes on... or my contact lenses in... both get the boot before I begin...

" HOwever my Momma use to sew bare footed on the tredle machine, she would get her toes over the top of that peddle and she could really make that thing sew.

I sew barefoot when I use my treadle machine and can sew
almost as fast as my electric machines. Treadling is relaxing and I've got more control. Here's a picture of one of my treadle machines.

Do you crochet? I make slippers using 2 strans of yarn, they are warm and if you use the right yarn they are also soft .
If slippery you spray the bottoms with hair spary.
Wouldn't wanna slip and fall.
You can make them using one stran of yarn, they would be cooler. I like bare footing but not cold feets.

I crochet all the time, but don't have a pattern for the slippers. I also knit and have made my own socks for a long time - great way to use up extra yard. Who cares if they don't match in your boots! I usually buy the knit slippers from the nursing home gift shop. I am not sure who makes them now, but Randy used to take care of the lady who started the knitting group at the home. At $3.00 per pair, why buy yarn?

I never weare shoes when sewing. I have to feel what is going on and be one.

I'll do just about anything I can in bare feet...I hate wearing shoes and only wear them when I go out of the house. I don't even wear slippers because I like my feet to be cool.

I have a pair of slippers that resemble ballet shoes that I wear while sewing, so I have something between the pin and my foot that I will step on....

I like to "become one" with my sewing machine...so no shoes for me!

I can do anything I want in my own home, but I am curious to see if anyone else sews barefoot.

Yes, you bet ya.. I don't like shoes and sew all the time barefoot...we are now the barefoot sewers
