My group quilts & crochets for hospice, Children's Hosp of Philly, homeless shelters, nursing homes, pregnancy crisis centers & wherever else there is a demand. Someone gave us 2 toppers & I was able to sandwich & quilt them. If you can't find anyone local, I would love to have a couple of them to finish off. I love machine quilting

I just searched for "colorado quilt top donation request" and several groups popped up. One is "http://www.victoriasquilts.com/subpages/Donations.htm." You can check them out. There were others on the list.

If you're in the US, you could look for your local chapter of Quilts for Kids. Mine donates to our local Children's Hospital. They just need to be made with good quality NEW cotton fabrics (flannel is okay) and machine stitched. I know my local chapter has people that will do the quilting work when provided with a quilt top.
http://www.quiltsforkids.org/find-chapter/ What a truly generous gift to offer so many quilt tops! I'm sure you will make many people very, very happy when they receive their very first quilt! |
I think you should join a local quilt guild or club. You'll find they probably donate to charitable causes, and may discover what you want to do with your tops. As an added bonus, you'll make wonderful new friends who share your passion.
One other place a completed quilt can be donated to is a women's shelter. Our guild is getting ready to finish a top someone donated to us, and that's where it will go. Just another great cause which I believe hasn't been mentioned yet. God bless! |

This is an organization that will take quilt tops. They donate them where disasters happen:

I could have written this subject to. Love to make the tops but hardly ever finish them. Hope someone in my family comes along and likes to do the rest.
Nice list of charities you ladies posted. |
Our local quilt guild has a group of ladies who eet twice a month and make disaster quilts to give to people who ar in tornadoes, or have fires, etc. They are always happy to finish quilts for this purpose. You can pmail me if you want to donate a bunch to the same place.

My church has a quilting group that makes quilts to donate. They would love to have tops already done. Check with your local churches to see if there is such a group in your area.

If there is a niche, there is someone to fill it. Some like piecing, some like quilting, some like binding, some like the shopping. Hope you find someone to fit your particular niche!
