Betty, thank you so much for your help. My EQ7 was only downloaded and the exe file has disappeared from the old computer, so I have no idea how my clever son managed to transfer the program to the new computer, though I did have to insert my ID no. The PJ7 file was in documents, but when I just looked there was nothing in there. So managed to find it elsewhere and dragged it in. Joy! It works. I will have to ask to company for a new download so I still have it. I'm really hating this windows 10 as I find it does things I don't want done, and can't do others that I did in Win 7. Hopefully it will get me to fall into line soon. lol

I recently purchased EQ8 and have only made it through lesson 1. I think I have a handle on that lesson but not lesson 2. I will be watching this thread closely. Thanks for the links. no to save this thread.

You may want to sign up for the EQ Blog as well. They have sew alongs and challenges as well as instruction.

I’m embarrassed to even be asking. I ha EQ when it first started and never used it. This thread looks like a great place to ask questions. My quilting life is pushing me to try this again.
First question; what operating system is used? What do I need on the computer to support EQ8?

One time I felt I was beginning to understand EQ. Then, I stepped away from it for a couple of months and yep, I'm back to square one. I think it will be a New Years Resolution. Ha ha It may be good for a long, cold winter.

You can get EQ8 for both Windows and Mac. It will not run on a Chromebook. Depending on what previous version you own, you may be able to get a reduced price on a new edition. System requirements are here: https://electricquilt.com/online-sho...20Requirements

I have nothing to add except, once you start using it, you’ll love it. Lots of lessons on website and blog. I use the “search” on website and they will usually have my answer. It’s great for creating border designs for panels. You can upload a picture of panel and resize it based on your border block sizes, which helps to know dimensions for panel cutting. I love the foundation paper piecing option, too, for blocks. Anywhoo…I’m an EQ8 cheerleader and know, based on your past creations, that you will really utilize this.

quick question--has anyone done the online EQ lessons being offered? There are 3 levels of lessons and I'm interested but really do not want to start at level 1 since I've used it for some time now plus I don't want to pay to do what I've already learned. Let me know if you can about the differences in the 3 classes--I emailed EQ but of course they want you to start with the first one.

Thanks

I didn't bother with the lessons, I couldn't keep my interest and focus up long enough to get through them. I played with the software, and when there was something I couldn't figure out on my own, I looked it up in the manual.
