Can you flip it over?
|
its made of LDPE resin.. I know it says its used for rotary cutting but it says nothing of being a healing mat. It is after all made of resin.. Ok so I did a more extensive search and it does say on other sites it is self healing but on the Joann site it does not say its self healing.

I have a large 36x60 white cutting mat that covers my cutting table completely. It gives a nice solid cutting surface. However, I don't cut directly on that mat. I have a smaller mat (18x36) on top of the large mat. The hard plastic white mat is too hard on cutter blades. It really dulls them fast. I only keep the large mat because it makes a good solid cutting surface.

Since I purchased an Olfa mat my blades last a lot longer!

I have the same mat and also seemed to be using too many blades.
Thanks for your post because last night I turned it around and boy what a difference. Just love this site. |
Thanks for the heads up. I didn't think my mat could be affecting how my blades work/don't work. Now I can start saving for a new mat.

So what do you do with an old used cutting mat? |

I dont use it to cut on...doesnt heal. Use it to measure and mark.

A friend that does lots of totes uses the old mat (cut to size) as the bottom inside the totes.
