I'm watching the show onTV where a woman has a whole houseful of fabrics & anything to do with sewing. I mean her WHOLE house. In stacks. You should all feel better about your stashes after seeing this show.
Her son had to relocate to a sm. space in the basement & husb. has a sm. area for himself.

Marion Jean 04-16-2011 04:15 PM

Is she a member of this board? LOL

Here in Ariz. that show was on around 5 or 6pm. They've run Hoarder shows all afternoon, evening, & they're still running. I cannot believe people can live this way. I'm watching one right now where the man is going to be put out of his house by the city if he doesn't get rid of stuff. It's against fire code. He could possibly go to jail. He already owes the city $5,000 for the city having to get rid of all of the junk on the outside of his house.

DeedeeSwift 04-16-2011 07:48 PM

like that's a bad thing?

Painiacs 04-16-2011 08:09 PM

Loved to have seen it! Can't complain I only have 3 bins and thought that was lots!!

Krystyna 04-17-2011 02:43 AM

I missed that one, too. Watching that show really gets me motivated to get cleaning and tossing. Would love to help her clean out her stash ... as long as she doesn't have cats like some do on that show.

debbieumphress 04-17-2011 02:49 AM

IMHO The men are lucky they are still allowed a room in the house. LOL. We are not hoarders, we are a collector of fine fabrics. ROFL. I resemble that remark.♥♥

Magzwv 04-17-2011 03:01 AM

If you hoard anything else EXCEPT fabric, it is a mental illness. I totally agree we are collectors of fine textiles!!!
ROFL~~ OK, I gotta get organized!

Tinabodina 04-17-2011 03:03 AM

Where are the cameras? I can't see any! LOL

justlooking 04-17-2011 03:30 AM

I agree...and this was a problem? LOL

girlsfour 04-17-2011 04:20 AM

Was this on TLC??

mrsquilt 04-17-2011 04:50 AM

Hi. are you the person that had thesquare dresdan plate ?

Glenda m 04-17-2011 05:07 AM

My DH goes with me to buy fabric, so I guess I'm not to bad....yet! LOL

scrappylouisa 04-17-2011 05:22 AM

While watching the show about the lady with the fabric and craft supplies I finally admitted to myself that I hoard fabric and craft supplies too!!!! I've always told myself that I was stocking up for when I retired. Well, I'm retired and I have so many projects that I want to make. I'm also finding myself overwhelmed with all my supplies and don't know where to start!

illinois 04-17-2011 05:33 AM

What became of the guy (Peter Walsh)on Oprah's new channel? After they aired the show about the fabric hoarder, I haven't seen any of his programs since! Ya don't mess with quilters, folks. First he attacked a teacher and then a quilter--big no-nos. Most people thought it was the kids who were behind the visit from PW though. And we haven't heard anything more from the quilt lady either. Wondering how her new garage/sewing room has turned out with some use. She was sewing for Quilts of Valor.

sewbizgirl 04-17-2011 05:44 AM

I can't watch that show or any of the intervention type shows. They make me so sad...

A lady I knew locally had the hoarding problem with her various craft items. I never saw her house but I can imagine it, because she had her car so jam packed with stuff there was barely room for her to crawl in behind the wheel. Literally to the roof, everywhere else, so I marvel the cops didn't ticket her for driving with her view obstructed. It really was dangerous. She may have had everything she needed with her, wherever she went, but it would take her hours to find it! :o((((

Rann 04-17-2011 06:17 AM

I had so many different craft types saved up for 'when I retire.' Well, that was 13 1/2 years ago. I sold lots of them at a gigantic yard sale my DD's and I had last year. Most of the stuff on the 26 tables was mine. I have agreed to only have 3 types of crafts now and so far I am sticking to it.

carla m 04-17-2011 06:28 AM

omg i didnt see them at my mil's house her new hubby must have snapped and reported her lol she has a whole house just to sew in. her last hubby didnt want to trip over all her stuff so he bought her a house across the street thats where we all sew. its a blast, we call it our woman cave lol.
carla

Krystyna 04-17-2011 06:33 AM

Does anyone know the name of the fabric hoarder? I've been trying to find a clip of the show on the TLC site.

Emma S 04-17-2011 07:01 AM

I think it is funny that we all want to watch the quilter show, if your like me I want to watch to admire the fabric.

Alondra 04-17-2011 07:07 AM

Too funny! I guess the husband and son should feel honored that they even have a corner to hang their hats!

Nolee 04-17-2011 07:10 AM

My daughter just started her business as a professional organizer for hoarders and, trust me, it takes a special person to do it. I'd want to slap them and tell them to clean up their mess. She is so patient. I guess nurse or organizer of hoarders wouldn't be my calling, LOL.

Was this on the Oprah Network? If so, she is a lady who does Quilts of Valor & I think other charities. I did four quilts for her in December or January. Nice lady, Barbara W. We chat via email now and again.... I need the de clutterers here today! LOL.

margecam52 04-17-2011 07:17 AM

To answer your question about the lady who quilts for QOV...I know Barbara and she is doing great. No more fabric in her house since the makeover. And she is thrilled with the work that was done there. This was such a big help to her as you start with one bag on a couch and it went from there.
Barbara has quilting days at various locations and I go to a few and have met some wonderful quilters. She is very organized now as a place to keep everything.

teacherbailey 04-17-2011 08:03 AM

I LOVE hoarding shows of all kinds since they make me feel so neat, tidy and organized!!!!
