Still on track..only backing for 2 quilt tops from scratch. Another top from a kit purchased couple of years ago. Made backing from fabric I got for free. I did buy a new rotary cutter when I "lost" mine in the holiday mess, so now I have 2 of them. Don't miss buying fabric when
I look at my stash and try to adapt what i have.

We will be through this moratorium and will have learned a lot of things.

 Uh oh, caught with new thread on my hands - but it felt so good and, and, and it was such a good sale!
OK, I've found some inner strength and will NOT buy in February!

I went to a quilt show last weekend and bought 2 batik FQ's for a current top I'm working on and also ordered some 30s charm packs from CarrieAnne on the board. I have a bunch of 30s blocks from the Quilting Bee one block/month swap and haven't been able to put them together because I needed 30s prints for a postage stamp sashings/border. I have none in my stash. Other than one slip last month, buying some polkadot fabrics for no intended purpose, I'm doing well.

Mirabelle, please take care!!! I'll be praying for you and all our other Aussie friends!

whewwww - 2 down - 363 to go!

Oh, the pain of each hour passing!!! LOL I feel your pain as does every quilter who is doing this. Does it count that I bought 2 pink fat quarters and sent them to someone who loves pink? I hate it and would never use it in a quilt, so I did good, right? I did good....I did good, right? LOL

I'm going to join up in a casual sort of way. I love the idea and frankly have come to realize that for now, I really do have enough. Will still need to buy batting etc. I do want to be kind to myself, though.

I am doing great! I had a slip about a week ago for Batman and Superman fabric (which was admitted in January's thread). I've finished (pause) 3 quilt tops, including borders. I have a bunch more that I'm working on and I feel really inspired! Yay! And I'm for the $ I'm not spending on fabric, I'm saving up for a long arm so I can quilt all the tops I'm finishing. So it's a worthy sacrifice!

And I very much appreciate the support group. Jokes aside, it really is helpful to have a group of people who are trying to cut back on spending to talk to and remind me to cut back and such.

Hope everyone in Australia and New Zealand are safe.
The bag that I needed to buy interfacing for turned out great. May make some more of those. I have some decor samples that would make great looking bags.I know someone who might sell them for me.
I have 7 WIP's with backing and batting, 1 I may need a backing for, 2 or 3 more that I have batting for them not sure about backing yet, to finish more WIP's I may need to purchase more batting and/or backing. I may need to purchase thread soon.
My reason for the fabric moratorium is to have more workable space in my sewing room, that is beginning to happen.

Still on track!

Only expense this month was to replace the burned out motor on my sewing machine. Out of my stash, I have made 140 HST's for the triangle exchange on The Quilt Show and plan to make more. I rediscovered in my closet, a box of 3" rail fence blocks that I'm laying out on my design wall. The fabrics are dark, light, dark, with the darks matching. Also, shopping from my stash to do some planning for my UFO's.

Good things are going to happen this year. I have a new mantra: "I have enough, I have enough, I have enough . . .

Thanks SO much for starting this moratorium!

My major accomplishment in January was organizing up my sewing areas. Pretty pleased I did because it turns out I have more fabric than I thought I did (*oh dear*).

I've sorted all my WIPs into 1 container and my plan is to only work on items in the box :) Started to work on a large hand quilting project - but it is so hot here at the moment (93F) that it was too much for me. Now I'm piecing my scraps into blocks. I'm trying to put 1 piece of fabric from every quilt I've done into this.

I'm also really pleased to report that I didn't buy a thing.

Some items arrived in early January - that I purchased last year (before the Moratorium) to finish off that large hand quilting project. It was fabric for piping and binding.

So far so good :)
