No more stash building for me for a while!

They are mostly over $10.50 locally. They are even raising the prices on partial bolts that have been in inventory for awhile. Now that annoys me.

Here in Northern Ontario you are looking at $14.95 minimum regular price at eh quilt shops. I started shopping connecting threads too. For the odd color I am missing or for a special yard or so I will shop local...but it hurts!

You guys are lucky down there in the USA...up here in Toronto..$15 is average and some high end, are even more...the less expensive ones are not very good quality..and we don't have a Joanne's...sounds like a great store...

Yep, I'm seeing prices like that too, up to $19-$22/m (which is only three inches longer than a yard!) Ordering online, even with shipping costs is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper.

And when cotton prices go down, do you think fabric prices will, too? I think not.

Going down to Montana for bargains on Friday.

In Saskatchewan it is 18 to 22 a meter(39") for lots of quality names.

Connecting Threads fabric is nice enough for a quilt for anyone. It's the only fabric I have bought lots of yardage in the last year. I buy several quilt kits at Hancocks of Paducah during the quilt show every April and any pre cuts that are reasonable priced during the show.

It really hurts on a fixed income as alot of us know. Not just fabric but everything you buy now. My best advice during these hard times is to keep on smiling & be happy! We will just have to start quilting from old clothes & such. Hopefully the economy will turn around.
