Robots, robots, robots... I have two boys who love robots and there are not nearly enough fabrics out there with robots.

Ummm... I know I am always wondering why there aren't more fabrics like _________ and right now I can't think of anything, lol!

What would you like to see?

ETA: and gnomes, more gnomes please!

jemma 04-08-2011 03:25 PM

Swimmers, of course. Competitive or otherwise.

mygirl66 04-08-2011 03:45 PM

I think someone around here likes cheese!

Kathy N 04-08-2011 03:45 PM

I have a son in law that runs in triatholons and I can't find fabric for male swimmers or runners. I did find bikers. Some day I will pull it all together!

Pale turquoise and lavendar prints :D:D:D

SherriB 04-08-2011 04:09 PM

I have to second the vote for feedsack reproduction!!! I would like to see more fruit/veggie and realistic food lines.

jaciqltznok 04-08-2011 04:28 PM

funny, but at one time ALL of the fabrics you all mentioned have been on the market, ran their course and are now not printed due to lack of interest..hehehhe

novelty type prints are going to extinct soon...the manufacturers just can not risk printing fabrics that may or may not sell...so if your LQS is not pre-ordering the LINES of the future via a sales rep. then the fabric is NOT going to made..I know 3 designers right now that have GREAT lines on the boards, and not one manufacturer will print them!

Get used to calicoes and blenders being all that you will see soon! They sell...

Favorite Fabrics 04-08-2011 04:46 PM

Computer/techie/geek fabrics. There would be a market for these!

sewingsuz 04-08-2011 05:46 PM

I wish there was some Dick and jane fabric I could afford.

Victoria L 04-08-2011 06:07 PM

Raggedy Ann and Andy fabric. I loved the line Daisy Kingdom had.

GwynR 04-08-2011 06:58 PM

Salmon! realistic ones, not cartoons! I have looked and looked and looked...

I second this   Also...not just muscle cars, but Mustang cars of all ages. Can't find any with a Mustang car alone on it. :(

My Mom and Sister in law did find Raggedy Ann and Andy in Shipshewanna (sp?) Indiana last year. I think that they found it in Lollies while there. Mom knows I'm a huge fan, (have them tattooed on my leg) and brought some back for me. ;) (Lucky aren't I? :D )

Video game fabrics. I see some from time to time on ebay, but they want an arm and a leg for them (some of them are vintage fabrics though). And 95% of the time its Mario. Not that I wouldn't mind Mario, but would also like to see Legend of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and some other major video game series in a fabric line. Why can't Robert Hoffman or Moda make like a "Nintendo All Stars" or "RPG Heaven" or "8-Bit Nostolgia" fabric line?

I'm still looking for the perfect black fabric with pink sakura blossoms on them. I've seen kimonos or other things with pink blossoms on a black background, but can never find anything in a yardage. Here's a kimono collar made in a fabric that meets my specs: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Kimono-HAN-E...item20b80e4df2

This is very sad to me. Novelty fabrics are what people "love"--esp. men and teens. The older ladies tend to like the blenders more but kids and teens love special print--and men--cars, sports, nature, etc.

I want to get that cats and quilting fabric before it is discontinued....maybe now would be better than later...

GrammaO 04-08-2011 09:20 PM

I love novelty prints. Maybe because of the grandkids, but I just think novelties are fun. I wish I could find more western/cowboy print fabric, not just bandana or bucking horses.

search for fabric stores in Wy and MT....they have more than the shops in TX and OK..really...

dogsgod 04-09-2011 12:18 AM

Drama/theatre related themes, been looking for years for my theater major daughter but all I can find is movies or mardi gras

Hosta 04-09-2011 01:13 AM

I would like to see realistic trees on fabric and not jumbled together so that if I need to use a bit of one tree that is large I can do it without cutting up an entire half yard or a pattern that doesn't repeat every two inches would be nice

Better "true" colors.I have a lot of yellow shades, but need a true gold.....same with reds. Not orange red or fire engine red, just true red.
Would like to see a better selection of cream on cream & WOWs.

wolfkitty 04-09-2011 02:49 AM

Nice cat prints, without butterflies or hearts or bows. Dogs as well.

Jagsd3 04-09-2011 03:04 AM

Realistic animals....horses, cows,dogs...

and a bigger selection of turquoise colors..

My daughter was a tennis player through high school, college and now she's on an adult league. Have only found maybe one fabrich with just tennis. I don't want footballs, basketballs, baseballs, soccer balls and tennis balls on the fabric...just tennis balls or tennis players.

SusieO 04-09-2011 04:31 AM

Goats, someone once asked me if I had ever seen any.

doll-lady 04-09-2011 04:42 AM

more fabric like the 30's fabric. they had such bright and vibrant colors.

Aylahopper 04-09-2011 04:47 AM

realistic elephants not the babyish or cartoon designs you see everywhere.

Posted then looked at my avatar...haha

fairydawn 04-09-2011 04:49 AM

Check online for all those types of fabrics. quilt stores in some states have totally different fabrics than others. Check out quiltshops .com and put in a search. You can also make your own fabric at spoonflower.com.

Medical/dr/nurse fabric. was looking a few years ago for some. wanted to make a baby quilt for a couple that were chiropracters. Seems like when I really want something the only place i see it is in my head!

FEMALE chefs, female karate children and adults, female police officers......sigh.....I have a daughter who has been involved with these and when I made her a memory log cabin, there were 92 fabrics on it all relating to her life and I couldn't find these! Talk about a stash builder! I bought either a half yard or a yard of each fabric I used. I will be using the remnents FOREVER!!! (And I am so happy about that! I always remember something wonderful about her.) I saw her this morning and I miss her already. I think I'll hug my fabric stash. Sweet.

I also made a memory quilt for my daughter when she went off to college...and since we live so far away (Europe) and she's in the states, we aren't sure when we will see her again...I think the same when I see the fabrics I used to make her quilt (and the same for her two older brothers' quilts.)..

Hugs.
