I hope the picture show. The templates are from "Quilters Haven" by Charlene Bement. First I traced the template with freezer paper which then was traced on the cardboard. The circle is 12" unfinshed, the finshed block is 8 1/2"

Here is the link to Missouri Quilts' tutorial on using the circle template like caroloto did above. I saw one make out of jeans using this technique with colorful fabric in the centers and it was really neat. It is a different than the one I showed on this post.

Yes you sandwich it with a backing fabric and batting in between. As I quilt each block I have to make the backing fabric larger than the block so When i join my blocks, I can pull the extra inch or so towards the back and fold it to cover the seam. Then I will hand stitch it down. I will treat it like a quilt as you go project

I wish when I picked up the pattern and templates the had the circle rulers where as you could use a rotary blade! Sure would save time. The one I bought years ago is thin plastic and cost $17.00 back then the pattern was $8 and it's one sheet (one sided) copied in black like you would print up at your local library...

I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but for all the accuquilt owners out there this looks like an awesome way to make this quilt!
