I don't want to sound like an idiot but I didn't understand how you made each section before you put them together. I've done the 10-minute block but I like how you can make these blocks random like you showed in one of your photos. I understand the part of turning the edges over after inserting the colored piece in the center just not how you made the block itself.............Call me DUH!!!!

Those are beautiful!!!!
I love the 16" one... oh the things you could do with that layout on a full size quilt.... |
I used the five minute tute, inserted florals and rolled back the edges.

It's fake cathedral windows because when you're done creating the windows, the back side isn't done -- you still have to add backing (and batting for a cooler climate). It's just the 10 minute block with the center floating piece twice the measurement of the outside blocks minus 1/2", and an accent piece in the middle. But at 10 min per block, that's still a quick quilt top.

Eddie has a fantastic tutorial on Faux Cathedral Windows in the tutorial section
