I tried it one time a long time ago and couldn't make it work. I gave up! Maybe I'll try again one day. It's a beautiful quilt.

I agree with Nan about eddie's tutorial here on the board. He did a great job on it.

Lovely quilt that I would consider vintage. A cathedral window is on my bucket list but I want to do it on machine. Our guild had a speaker several years ago and she has patterns and books out but don't recall her name.

Back in the 80s I made a Cathedral Window pillow by hand (4 blocks) for my Mom, and then 2 blocks back to back for a Christmas ornament. Lots of work! Correct, no batting except under the colored center.

Beautiful! I doubt i will ever have the patience to attempt a cathedral without recruiting people to help me. I don't have patience for anything that takes a long time. I would have to do a block here and a block there while i work on other projects in between.

It is a great portable hand sewing project and beautiful made from scraps. You can also make two of the individual squares and sew them together with a ribbon for your scissors and you have a chatelaine for sewing and the middle makes a pouch for thimble/ thread. Nice gifts.
