Well already this is turning into a buying spree... couldn't pass up the Farmer's Wife' quilt book you mentioned and of course that lead to more surfing and I ordered Schnibbles Times Two: Quilts from 5" or 10" scraps. Thanks for the ideas, can't wait till they get here and I can get started on my quilts. Doncha love online shopping? 8-)[/quote]
I don't know if you're aware, but there is a group of us online doing the Farmer's Wife quilt "together." We're doing two blocks a week, some are ahead, some behind, others almost finished and people who are just starting. Here's the link to explain what's going on: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-57733-1.htm |
I get to make my first quilt block. YAY!!!! I lost a pound, WooHoo!!!! Ok I will stop bragging.
|
I think I will make a center block with yo-yo's in a vase to repersent my pounds and smaller blocks for the borders of the quilt. That way I will have flowers for me and a new quilt just for me.

For every 1 lb lost, you make a quilt block. If you have a lot to lose (like me!) then you should make your blocks smaller, maybe 6". If you have only a few pounds to lose then maybe you should make 12" blocks. It's completely up to you. No fabric requirements and no minimum quilt size. These quilts should be personal and should reflect your weight loss journey. Cheers, Christina |
