This is a great idea to keep people motivated. I would think to start off with your blocks bigger and then slowly make them smaller (but still able to fit them all together when done) and have it fade from big to little as you are losing weight to signify what you have lost. The ideas you guys come up with to keep us all motivated is great!

I'm in. It's taken me from April to lose 20 pounds. I want to go faster on the next 20. The quilt block may be all the incentive I need!

Plus my dog is 10 pounds overweight...she's supposed to be 10 pounds in all and she weighs 20 pounds!!! We definitely need to walk!

Whoever mentioned the hourglass block really got me grinning!

I've always wanted to make a disappearing nine patch, so that may be what I do.

Well, i guess I'd better get started on choosing and sewing blocks. I weighed in today and I am down 6.8 total for 2 weeks! YAHOO!!!

So instead of one block, I am going to go in whole hog and finally open my copy of 'The Farmer's Wife' quilt book that's been hiding in my desk for about a year. Since I am a farmer's wife, it will really be a quilt about me and my own journey - life, and weight all wrapped up in one. And BONUS - it has enough blocks in it so that each pound gets it's own design!

Well already this is turning into a buying spree... couldn't pass up the Farmer's Wife' quilt book you mentioned and of course that lead to more surfing and I ordered Schnibbles Times Two: Quilts from 5" or 10" scraps. Thanks for the ideas, can't wait till they get here and I can get started on my quilts. Doncha love online shopping? 8-)

I love the idea. I am not on a diet but a change of life program.
At this point I have lost over 8 lbs.
I will have to think about what type of squares I will make. :)

You should make a dog quilt for your dog for every pound she loses! ;)

You can do it!!! Just make the decision and we will all support and celebrate your successes!
Like everything else it takes one step at a time.
