Last year I got a pipe wrench....(I'd been needing one of those) and he got a bracelet. This year, I got a two step step lader so that when I wash the truck, I can reach the top. (I never wash a vehicle, he does). He will get an embroidery CD from Dacota Collectables with muscle cars from the 60's and 70's on it. It takes all the stress off and we can just enjoy the day.

What are his hobbies? I would start with finding a good fabric that deals with his hobby or favorite team, etc and then build the quilt around that. Have fun!!

My DH and I have always taken the approach that it's up to our children to celebrate us on Mother's/Father's day. By and large, this has failed. (Without parental leadership, how does a child know what to do?) Even though we've been married almost 38 years, I just might try to start this tradition with my DH. (Too bad Mother's Day has passed.) I think he'll appreciate the humor as much as I do! Thanks for a GREAT idea! |

Oh, and my Dad's name is Jacob- so I'd go with a Jaocob's Ladder. My Brother is a Jacob, and so is his son- so when my nephew was born I made him a Jacob's Ladder baby quilt. That was 15 years ago now-back when I had no kids of my own and actually had time to hand quilt. How time flies!! |
