I have bought and made boxer shorts for my DH. He is an avid runner and now has added biking to his list of work outs. I have to find that bicycle fabric and get those boxers done! And yes he really wears them. By-the-By who has time to get a quilt done by Father's day??

I was working on a quilt for my father-in-law when he passed away. I found great comfort in finishing it and giving it to my brother-in-law (his oldest son) who LOVES it. My husband and I have taken all Dad's shirts and are in the process of making throw size quilts for the rest of Dad's children. A very healing process. Dad's been gone 2 years and I miss him everyday! |
I did a Turning Twenty quilt for my husband. I chose two focus fabrics - money & playing cards - & built around that. For the quilting I carried the theme through and did clubs, hearts, spades & diamonds. It was a lot of fun & he loves it. (I posted pictures in another thread.)

When my husband died 2 years ago after 65 years I cut all of his shirts up into sguares and sewed a quilt.I keep it on top of the davenport and it is such a comfort for me to see it there.Evertime I see it there I think of him and all those years we had together.That quilt makes my day. Handquilter

(I never wash a vehicle, he does). He will get an embroidery CD from Dacota Collectables with muscle cars from the 60's and 70's on it. It takes all the stress off and we can just enjoy the day.

Well, I have some wonderful fishing fabrics and even a pattern that I want to use for a quilt for my honey, but.... other quilts keep getting in the way. He really deserves his own. He supports my quilting 100%. I think I need to get started, soon. But, I won't make it by Father's Day.
