That is an Australian Bush Quilt. Easy/Superfast. Quilt for a man.

I do a lot of applique baby quilts. I find an easy pattern of an animal that I like, and do a quilt around it. I have done one with bears, dogs, bugs, dinosaurs, and boats.

This is great especially with the added sashing.

I always get excited when someone is expecting a new baby! I buy the cross stitch baby blanket patterns to make. They always turn out to be the kid's comfort blankies. My daughter is 12 and still sleeps with hers!

I actually had one like that. It was my favorite and I slept with up until just a couple years before I left for college (given I just graduated from college a couple weeks ago).

Beautiful quilts all! I love the d9p with a colour for each block - great for a baby, or actually I'd like one myself! LOL Chele did a great pinwheel with prairie points a while ago - from the Moda bakeshop. Prairie points are great for babies cos they can fiddle with them. I made a smaller version myself from just blue and white as a wall hanging and it was very quick and easy - AND I'd never done prairie points before! http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/03/...aby-quilt.html

I like that pinwheel baby quilt. I've never made prairie points, but I'm willing to try. I've already put it on my favorites.

There were no pictures on two of the posts.

My absolute favorite Baby quilts are from Ursula Reikes books. She has a few books out there with that theme. Those books enable you to make baby quilts quickly while maintaining such a professional look. I've added embroidery to some of them and WOW.
Good luck.
