One of my best friends found out she and her husband are expecting their first child! Yay! So I of course volunteered to make a baby quilt for them. I haven't really made any baby quilts before, just larger ones. So I was wondering what some of your favorite baby quilt patterns are. :D

I think you will find Hugs and Kisses is the overall fav here at this point. Very pretty and very easy.

The blocks for Hugs and Kisses are really easy to make. The entire quilt goes together quickly....just make sure you have the blocks turned the right way so seams match. Go for it...ask me how I know? lol

I mainly use Yellow Brick Road for baby quilts. Simple, Easy to make and put together. I usually tie it afterwards

I really like the one that is a nine patch and then cut up. I can't remember the name of it tho. It is really really easy and looks really cute. Hope you find one you like. Grammie2twins

Pinwheel's are nice and easy they go together so quickly I do them most of the time when my sis needs yet "another" baby quilt for a friend hehe.
Grammie that would be a disappearing 9 patch you're thinking of :)

I'm pretty sure I'm leaning towards using flannels. Although there was this pattern a friend of mine used a few years ago where you sew three rectangles together, cut those on what ever diagonal you want, and then switch them around. Anyone know the name of that?

I had a lot of fun making this preemie baby quilt for my DH niece, she was a preemie. I made it a little bigger so she could use it at home. She was in the hospital for a long time. I loved the way the blocks kinda look like they are floating. Not hard to make and is pretty fast. It is from the Linus projects I got it from their website. Here is a picture.
