Try a google search under images for Rail fence quilt, for many ideas.

can fence rail be scrappy, and is it still considered a fence rail.

Type in Rail Fence in the SEARCH at the top of the message board and you will see lots of pretty ones! There is even a two fabric one that is special.

have done two rail fences with three colors and 2 directions also. I put two borders on mine, but wider ones on my daughters.

I did one with 3 rails. Only thing to be careful of...mine ended up looking like swastikas because of the way I placed them. :oops: I didn't even notice, but my daughter did since it was a baby quilt for my DGD!

All your quilts look great and thank you for sending them. I'm going to put, I hope, a rectangle with a ribbon of hope in the middle. That will take some figuring. I only want to make the quilt approximately 40 x 54. I guess I have my work cut out for me. Thanks again.
