I loved the description and cannot imagine how relieved you are. I dug mine up and draped it over a chair from where it stares at me accusingly. Wait, I'll get to it. Soon!

Thank you for the laugh and the "shared misery" of quilts we wished we'd never started. I think this needs to be a thread. Maybe under pictures. "Unfavorite quilts that took forever and are now finally done." Maybe something a little shorter. Finally Finished Quilts from Hell. FFQH. We could start a new acronym!

Congratulations! Will be watching for picture.

It is Finally Finished!!! - Picture Added

Here is the picture of the QFH. It is 1/2 a football field and 1/2 a basketball court. I used a wood grain pattern fabric for the 'floor of the basketball court. All the lines for both fiield's were free hand embroidered using a Pfaff 138-6 industrial. The numbers were done on my Brother PC6500. The quilting was done on a Pfaff 1222E.
The girl I made it for was the manager for both her high school teams. I made a full football field for a charity auction last March. I have never been so happy to see a project finished. Sorry it is wrinkled. It spent the night in my car. |
okay, now I'm ROFLMAO! That so looks like something naughtier than a basketball end zone!

Wow lol I thought I was the only one that has a quilt from there! Glad you got it finished I've got one that is buried in the deep bowels of the closet I'm so mad at it I'm not in any hurry to rescue it either

I am working on a quilt like that right now. Unfortunately it is for my DH and will live in my house to constantly remind me of my 1. bad choice for a pattern. 2. bad choice of fabric for pattern. 3. times I had to rip out what I had sewn. 4. time I miscut and then go to fabric store because I ran out of the fabric and got caught in the rainstorm of the century. 5. ineptitude as a hand quilter.
What was I thinking? Anyways, I have slogged through this and I am a better person. Not a smarter person, but better. LOL PS: My dh is so so about the pattern @#$%+&! |
Know what you mean and glad you got it done. I had one that almost made me quit quilting. It went wrong from the first block to the last and even the sashing had to have plan B but the binding went on ok. Mine is still in the closet not sure what I will do with it. It is nice that yours will have a home.
