yikes I have the same brand...

Glad not too much damage was done. You also have to be careful of leaving spray starch cans (the aerosol kind) too close to the iron. My former MIL had a neighbour who did this and the can exploded.

My nightmare come true.... I was afriad this would happen,I have a power strip that I always turn off, just for this reason.
I'm glad to hear ur alright and u only lost ur ironing board/iron. |
So glad you are safe and didn't lose everything to a fire. I sometimes forget to unplug my iron because it is on a surge protector so I don't really worry about it. After reading your letter, I will be paying better attention. I am deathly afraid of fire so thank you for the heads up. Carol

I'm gonna go unplug mine right now. Thank you for sharing. The thought of that happening never crossed my mind.
|
yikes...I always have mine plugged in...guess I will heed the warning and be wise. Thanks for informing us.
|
I don't unplug but turn them off do I still need to unplug?
|
I always unplug mine, but I STILL turned around and looked when I read this. (Ironing board is right behind me) I am glad you were not burned!
|
Thanks for warning us! I'm so glad you're okay. That must have been frightening!

You actually need to be sure that the surge protector is on at all times. Once you shut off that light all you have is a glorified extension cord. The light means that it is on and working to take the hit from electrical problems. When we had a computer store I saw more fried computers from people shutting off the protection.
I am so glad your family was not hurt and things can be replaced, people cannot. What a blessing. |
