Glad you and your family and home are safe. I would have also been really scared.
|
PLug them into a power strip and turn it off everytime you walk away just to be safe
|
OM Goodness, mine is plugged in right now. Always rely on auto shut off, which frustrates me when I am sewing and it keeps shutting off. Will unplug that thing right now. So glad you are safe and you did not have any more damage. Thanks so much for warning us.

So glad you weren't hurt.
My DH asked me every night as we head for our bedroom if I turned the irons off. He never forgets to ask me. :-D |
Glad you are okay. I've never ever unplugged my iron, it's been on for 11 years now, since the day I bought it. I will now turn it of. Thanks for the warning.

I haven't been unplugging my Rowenta for years. But just today I happened to touch the cord right where it went into the iron and it was really hot. I will always unplug it now especially after hearing this from you.

I always unplug my iron. Thanks for the advice though.

Glad that you are not hurt and that everything was looked after so promptly.
My sewing room is downstairs and if it's a day that I am sewing, I leave it on, all day even if I'm away from my sewing station for a few minutes or for meals..... how scary your story is. I will unplug it if ever I leave my sewing area wow.... I am scared of fire!!! Thanks alot for telling us your story |
I always unplug my irons when they are not in use, just for safety.
Flour is good for electrical fires, it smothers them. |
So sorry this happened to you! Relieved you and your family are fine. I have a surge protector, but I should wise up and make sure they are unplugged. Thanks for the warning.
