In my opinion, you do not HAVE to put a hanging sleeve on it. I have a board that hubby made me that has clothes pins on a wire. Half of it can be seen in this shot.

Anne - what a clever husband you have...

Thanks Cindy. He made me a quilt rack too.

Don't give up, get in a class and get some help. You did a great job all by yourself so you know with a few classes you are on your way to many new and exciting days of quilting.
The hanging sleeve can be made several ways, as others have mentioned or I cut a muslin or matching backing fabric the width of the quilt at 4 1/2"wide. Fold the two short ends by folding in 1/4" twice and sew along the edge so there are no raw edges on the ends. Now fold lengthwise right sides together and sew 1/4" seam. Turn and hand sew along both the top and bottom just bellow the binding of the wall hanging making sure you center it. You can use a dowel rod or a yardstick to hang. Any questions feel free to ask, we all love to help each other. Bernadette |

Love it! Beautiful fabrics!!!!!

Beautiful.

I use decorative clips that you can get in the department store with the curtain rods. There are usually 8 to a package and they look a lot the ones you use on shower curtains except there is a clip on it.
I put sleeves on all my quilts in case whoever I give it to wants to hang it up. It is not hard to do. Even if I am going to hang it with clips I put a sleeve on it. Sybil |
I never done a Wallhanging, but yours sure is beautiful.

I hope this isn't your last wall hanging! I think you have a great eye for proportion! That turned out beautiful!
