Okay, what some of us are doing is called 'outline' quilting. Found this, on the web -
"A line of quilting that is stitched a uniform distance away from a fabric patch, applique piece or quilting motif. If you stopped with the first line of stitching, it is called outline quilting. If you continue by stitching another line a uniform distance away from the first, you are now echo quilting. " |
You're on your way now! Oh, the possibilities are endless.

Thank you, thank you. This is all new to me. But why do echo quilting? Why would one want to quilt two lines so close to each other? Probably a stupid question but I know one of you will have a super answer:)

Dina - I think it looks great and really makes the chevrons stand out.
|
Marsh, I echo stitch to make a feature in the quilt stand out like the appliqued flowers in my daughter's b'day quilt. I have a Warm Wishes on my design wall that may get the roses in the feature fabric echo stitched.

Thank you Irishrose - that makes sense to me. I don't think echo quilting is for strip pieced quilts. I have so much to learn.

Dina love your chevron and your quilting is good just keep on going

Doing a good job.

I really like it. You are encouraging me to try it soon myself. It really looks lovely. Thanks for sharing.
