Too cute, gave me a good chuckle, applique is something that takes a lot of practice but I've never been very good at it, only on small projects. Any chance you would share your "chicken" pattern"? Love it!!
These are very primitive but very cute and imaginative. I have never done applique before either. It looks like you have done a good job on your first try. I hope to get the guts to try applique as I have always wanted to have a Baltimore Album quilt. I can have such grandiose ideas. I know your next applique project will be fantastic. Jeannibelle

Oh I think that is so cute. I want to learn to applique too but it looks like you're doing a great job. I have the same material and also in yellow and pinks. I got mine a couple of years ago in Wal-Mart in Ar. Keep up the good work....

I just bought the same book "Chicken Buffet" by Linda Huber & Bonnie Collins-My sister is "chicken Crazy" and I can't wait to start it for her birthday! I made her a chicken themed cover for her Kitchen-aid counter mixer for Xmas and she loved it! Yours is really cute-are you making the whole quilt?

Dummy me, I thought the first one was a "pooped chicken", but didn't know why the bottle was there. They are pretty cute and aren't you glad you jumped in?
You did a great job and they are so funny. Did you use fusible web and then stitch around that or use any stabilizer? I'm going to try applique soon and would like to know what technique you used. Thanks.
wow1 hope my first turns out only half as good as yours, Nice Job
Try using some of the decorative stitches on your machine for sewing around the edges of your appliques. It's fun and gives them a whole new look.
Thank you for sharing these. Brought a smile to my face after a tough day. I love your chickens!!
LOL the one sitting on the bowl is halarious! Good Job. Looks like a fun project.

They are so cute.

My friend, Marie, raised chickens (named after women she used to work with), a goose named Geraldine and a deer named Jingle Foot. She recently passed away. But, having a terrific sense of humor, she would have absolutely loved these blocks. Once a fox kept killing her chickens. When they were all gone, Geraldine got so depressed. She would just sit on the back stoop and mope. So Marie had to go buy a duck for Geraldine as a pet!

Very cute, I love chickens. I bet they were fun to work on. I have yet to master applique, but my next project involves it. You did good.
