Been there. Done that. Am a slow learner, so I'll probably do it again.

Oh, poor you. You are not the first and definitely will not be the last. I know you will make a good job though.

Well at least it is all in one spot! I had that happen along an edge when I was stippling. I not only had to pick it out but tie off and bury all the ends and do a lot of reconnect segments and bury all those ends. I really really don't want to do that again!

Oh, yeah, been there, done that. Now that I'm using a Sweet Sixteen, I keep asking myself every time I sit down to quilt "Where are your edges?" Quilt I'm working on now, I rolled up the extra batting/backing almost to the quilt edge and pinned it in several places, so it doesn't do that. But recently I sat down to play with a "practice" quilt I keep nearby to warm up before my project, and I did exactly the same thing that you did. Ugh!

I've only been at this a couple of years and must confess I've "been there & done that" more times than I've kept track. You would think I'd learned my lesson! Good for you for "fessing" up & showing the picture!

I'm sorry as well, and agree your work is beautiful. It is worth pulling every one of those stitches out. I'm just learning to FMQ so you posting this was very important for me. I was recently told to hand or machine baste around the border edge inside the seam line so the border would not stretch as it is manhandled for quilting. Maybe that is not true? It seems from all the responses that you don't do that with FMQ.

Been there, done that...what is worse, I have done it more than once. Luckily, I have not had to un-sew too much!

I have done that too many times!!!! I usually get the corners though. Be careful taking it out, I have also accidentally snipped the backing fabric un-doing the stitching.

oh no!!! That is a beauty too!!!! Been there, done that!

Oh I am sooooo sorry! I haven't tried any FMQ yet, but that is my biggest fear. Good luck!
