It never happened to me as I am overly cautious and just beginning to learn how to quilt with my domestic sewing machine.

I remember seeing a video by Leah Day on her method of "unsewing." Of course I can't find it now to show you, but she just cut one stitch and started pulling them up one by one. It didn't matter how closely together they were sewed. Pulling up one at a time was fast and caused little distortion to the fabric.

I've done this. Frustrating, isn't it? What I found worked best was to take the stitches out from inside the quilt. In other words, the wrong side of top and back. You can gently pull the fabric away and cut the stitch. Just cut every fourth stitch or so and use masking tape to pick the thread up. Your quilting is nice. Good luck.

Been there, done that. Just try a little section at a time and it will get done. The FMQ is beautiful though, just so you know.

What a lovely quilt! Yep, been there, done that. I nourish the mind set that ripping out is just part of the process, and once I rip it out, I get to sew again! And, it'll be lovelier the second time I stitch it too! I can go for that.

Must have been something in the air..I also did this yesterday....i was close enough to the edge that all that got folded under was to be cut off...I was able to cut right up to the threads (still left me with 3/8") and remove the excess material..take deep breaths and breaks as you go...it will be over soon...:-o
