To each his own, I am glad we each has the option of doing our own thing. I don't care for them but I can tell they take a lot of work. I don't think I could see the colors well enough to do that kind of work. I have a hard time with a scrappy quilt.

You sure opened pandora's box - amazing, aren't they?!

I was at our LQS yesterday and they were talking about Fractals. I may look into the quiltuniversity.com class. Have any of you ever taken any of their classes?

All I can say is.....I want them. Love all the patterns and colors. Just need to get the nerve to do it!!!! Thanks so much for sharing all the information and sites. Looks like I will be here a while.

I'm fairly certain I don't have enough time left on this earth to accomplish something like that. pretty impressive look tho. Gives me a headache trying to figure out that many pcs. kudos to you that can.

This is definitely the type of quilt that most appeals to me. I always have a fractal calendar and love puzzles. My first book of quilt patterns was 3D eye poppers but I still haven't ventured into making one of them.
Waiting to see what this group creates!! |
Thanks for sharing-----had not seen them before. A beautiful work of art for your wall but certainly not traditional. Bookmarking this one!

Beautiful, but makes me kind of dizzy!

I am speechless.

As a math person I have always been fascinated by fractals and the first little original quilt I embarked on was a fractal design. My friends all know that I am fascinated by geometric shapes and designs so I guess that explains a lot.
These links show the most unbelievable work! I would love to do that with a couple of buddies or a class. If I started one right now I am pretty sure that I would end up with another UFO. My problem is I want to try it all! :D :D Meanwhile, I would love some feedback on the Quilt U classes. I'm pretty sure that I've heard them mentioned here before. |
