Hi all you Aussies...I'm on the Gold Coast and wondering where I can get freezer paper that I see folks often use. The Woollies and Coles here (that I've checked) only have the plastic freezer sheets.
Thanks :)

I know some quilt shops sell it (quite expensive though). I don't know of any supermarket that has it, I didn't even have a clue it existed 'til I started quilting.

I don't use it myself, but have thought about trying wax paper, but haven't got around to experimenting.

What do your butcher shops use to wrap meat? Do they use the paper with a waxy side to it?
If so, that is probably the same freezer wrap that we are using for quilting. :D:D:D

Actually, freezer paper and wax(ed) paper are not the same thing.

Freezer paper has sort of a plastic coating on one side.

Wax paper has wax.

They are not interchangeable.

Thanks...the butchers here mainly use plastic bags. But I do know the paper you are referring to. And yes, I had read that waxed paper and freezer paper weren't the same thing. Oh well..I might check out a quilt shop some time and see how much it is.

Goodness..just googled..can get it online for about $16 or more. Is kind of expensive

Freezer paper can be peeled off and used again & again. Check some of your big grocery stores or (is it still there?) Walton's.

I'm bookmarking this to see how much it would cost to mail some to you. Doesn't need to be on a roll. I'll get back to you.

You could always have some US/Canada friends write their letters to you on Freezer paper! Good luck.
Could you Google "plastic coated" kitchen paper?

I just love all this "Aussie" talk! It reminds me of when we were kids and went to Canada for vacations every year. Us kids were saying "eh?" for weeks after we got back!
