Honestly, I call myself a quilter. Creating quilts is just so fun, even when they are uncooperative. I really enjoy trying new techniques, so am always exploring.

I do it all, but call myself a long arm quilter. But....I also hand quilt (when pushed) sew a little (again, when pushed) to
fix someone's problems, tailor a little here and there, and will re-do wedding gowns if I HAVE to. If you want to upset me, ask me to alter something (or sew a button on!!!) when I am fixated on quilting....I can guarantee you won't like what you see...:)...I think that everyone in my family actually believes there is a seamstress somewhere inside my now aging body...but there is NOT...nor will there ever be...:)! I also play the keyboard, the organ, the guitar, the clarinet, the bass clarinet, the oboe; I paint in acrylics and in oils; I knit and crochet. (Can you tell I don't have a REAL job anymore??) however, no one has ever asked me to lead (or play in) the Philharmonic orchestra nor have they ever asked me to have a one-woman show at any art gallery. So I guess, in the end, I am a LA'r by vocation and by avocation!

I'm a Jack of all trades. I love to do so many things.

I am a Quilter. Plain and simple. I also sew, make jewelry, crochet, knit and paint. But I now define myself as a Quilter.

I am a hobbyist, but my favorite name is "Mom, Dave hit me for no reason!"

I call myself "a human being" - I've decided that I don't need or want to be "human doing" all the time.

In my sewing life I call myself a Topper. I don't do the quilting so I don't say I am a quilter. I do make a lot of tops though. Thats the part I like the best , making the tops.

I am a quilter. The Senior Quilting Club that I belong refer to ourselves as "sewers". I guess that makes me a quilter AND a sewer. lol. I don't care, as long as I get to sew. I like to hand quilt, and I like to piece tops.

I am a stay at home wife, and mother, and a quilter. And I love being all three :)

Is "Textile Artist" too pretentious?
