I have a spool of the glow in the dark thread...but really didn't know what to do with it...it was bought with the idea to use "sometime"...now I can't wait to try it!

I'm working on a little girls quilt in primary colors (started it before baby was born, and they waited to find out sex) and I'm quilting it with the glow in the dark thread. After it has been in the light all day, it really does glow in the dark when all the lights are out.

I also got the thread at JoAnns when they had ALL thread at 50% off, that is when I buy the specialty threads.

I once did an outline stitch of "spiderman" on a white tee shirt for my small grandson. He loved, loved, loved it. Even after the "glow" had been washed out he said he could "see" spiderman. It was the best thing he ever got from me..even better than the twin size spiderman quilt. He spend many hours in closets and dark rooms that year. Sometimes I wonder how I did it.

I have been wanting to try some of that thread. An ebay seller named threadsrus has 5 spools for $5.00 and its made by coats and clark.

Your quilt is gorgeous. Glad to know they carry glow in the dark thread.

Very clever idea for your lovely quilt. BTW, I made an autumn quilt for my son and he reports that during cold weather when the air is dry, static makes the metallic thread I used spark. He wanted to know if this is dangerous. I told him no more dangerous than having one's hair stand up! LOL
