I have 2 Janomes and only use Aurifil on them. Does not break or tangle. I have the 6600 proff and the little Janome Silver. Love them both1

I have never liked Gutermann thread. I just don't like the feel of it and what Nadine said about it being wound on the spool wet may be a possible explanation. I use Metzler (sp?) and have always had very good results.

I occasionally use a Bernette 90e for some parts of my projects and it works really well--but has only a horizontal spool pin. Why is this, I wonder--how much more expenive could it be to construct these machines with a spoon pin that hinges vertically as well as horizontally? I doubt there is any answer to this. But does anybody have a recommendation for a thread stand?
I might add that oddly enough, my Juki 98Q hates Superior Thread of all weights. I had to give up on it and go back to C&C. Dana |

i use all the time Guttermann, i have never had a problem with it..
i use it on my Janome 6600 and the Gem Platinum. |

Reguarding threads and thier costs.. if you calculated the cost per yard. the larger or costly spools or cones would actually not be as bad as you think.it is the initial cost that makes us not want to pay the amount . i quit using C & C,because the price went up, and the spool or yardage got smaller..(the new dual duty) . they say it was too linty, but i clean my bobbin area after every small project, usually when i change the bobbin thread, i wipe it out,prior to putting in the new bobbin. I think the fabric is way more linty than the threads. IMHO |
I have two Janomes and use Gutterman's on both of them. I've never had even the slightest problem. I'm talking years of use, not just a few weeks. How the heck do people come up with these stories? If I were you, I'd just ignore it. Give your DGD a few spools of different good quality threads and let her decide which she likes best. 8-)
