I finally got all my BOM's from a couple of years ago done and realized that even though I used a 1/4" foot the blocks came out all different sizes. By the time they were trimmed down to match the smallest block I realized that I'd made a Safety quilt---there were no sharp points! LOL

LOL....at least you can find humor in it....bet it still looks great!

Alright! Kudos to you for making a safety quilt; I love that name (laughter). I am sure you are not alone in this endeavor to make safety quilts!!! Thanks for the chuckle.
I've made one or two but didn't know what to call them until now. Thanks.
Love it - we all have to be able to laugh at ourselves!
Thanks for the lol!
LOL what a great attitude
That is exactly the kinds of quilts I make!!! LOL!!!
:)
I like the name. You could draw up a pattern and market it! :)
What a wonderful idea I didfnt know it but I make alot of Safety Quilts
I didn't know quilts were suppose to have points!

Thanks for the chuckle. Nothing quite like a quilters way to cope, humor.
I've done that! Alot of my stars on my star struck are not so pointy. I try not to let it bother me.

That was a Good laugh!!

Yep, I've made a few of those!!!!!!! |
You got us all! What a great title for a post. Guess I've made several safety quilts and didn't realize it. Thanks for the chuckle on a Friday night!!
Love it!
I love your humor, that was a good one. I enjoyed a laugh tonight, needed that. It is nice to look on the bright side. That is one way to make it fit. I guess there wasn't enough stretch to do it that way. HA HA
I'm what Kay Woods calls a "pointless person"! I don't do well on matching my points, so I just shrug and tell myself that only God is perfect!
That is priceless. I didn't know what to call them. I have several.
What a great sense of humor! I bet those "safety quilts" are just as warm and cuddly as the "pointy quilts"!
nope...too much of a perfectionist...drives me nuts...or it did when I first started quilting...now I have learned how to keep those points!
There was a teacher that taught "pointless stars" once... |
:-) :-)
I've made a few of those also! Thanks for the chuckle!
If that's your original pattern, a lot of quilters have been copying.
I LOVE YOUR HUMOR!!!!!!! For the life of me I could not figure out what a saftey quilt was, so had to read your message. Thanks, and yes I have made a few saftey quilts over the years :P
All my quilts have "Safety Points". After all, I have young grandchildren around and I am a very careful Grandma when it concerns their safety. Lol
Great title ... I didn't realize, but yes, I too make Safety Quilts!
Thanks for sharing the name of those quilts!! Lol
All this sounds like me. I do it for my own pleasure. The quilt never turns out like the pattern I start with, much do to this "fact." I call them morph quilts. They always turn into something else.
I'm working on one now that I will post when finished. It is really turning out nice even though I've cut down the blocks to make them the same size even though I measured and cut carefully (I thought), had to fuse a wonky sash because there was no longer room to sew the blocks together and so on and so on! Be proud that you made a quilt at all. That's how I look at it. |
Love it! I always have quilts like this. Thanks for naming it.LOL
LOL - I love this name!
LOL..thanks for the morning laugh...and yep...my first quilt was a safety quilt!
LOL.That's a Hoot! I've sure made my share. Great fro the grand kids. Can't possibly greg hurt on those puppies! Keeps up the good work.
HA HA, never heard that before. Guess I have several Safety Quilts from when I first started quilting. Never could get a sharp point !
