All I get is foreign language page.

quilt3311 09-07-2011 04:06 PM

Oh my gosh, that is something else! Would be fun to try it though. I'm thinking it is paper pieced? Wouldn't be very big quilt would it? It is amazing though.

Congrats on the Baby! I have seen pattern instructions that I know must be in a foreign language, but I can read the words so it must be English, just really hard to understand what they are trying to say! "You know kinda like when you talk to a teenager! ;-)

When is your baby due?

My little George is Due Dec. 30th!
Thanks :)

crkathleen 09-07-2011 04:40 PM

Thanks Thusnelda for posting the picture.

I had the same problem.

I'm getting a Greek webpage, I think. C9P

Dena789 09-07-2011 05:00 PM

Although the link goes to that "strange other language", just look at the page. There is a link towards the top that ends with challenge_twistedpattern.pdf - it is underlined and will take you to the pattern if you click on it. There are no written directions but all the foundation patterns are there to make the quilt.

crkathleen 09-07-2011 05:00 PM

Dunster, Thanks for finding an actual quilt made with this pattern. It's awesome!

Thanks WMU, I was planning on making to help my child's brain development. lol Poor thing lol
What's your thought on the tumbling blocks?

crkathleen 09-07-2011 05:27 PM

Thanks Mjsylvstr for the welcome back :) and thank you MTS for explaining it!!!!

Thanks!!

this came up in a foreign language for me; maybe cyrillic?

Earleen 09-07-2011 06:15 PM

My eyes would go bonkers doing that.

hawghugger 09-07-2011 06:19 PM

I love it, just might have to be my next quilt. thanks

There is really nothing to be translated. See MTS's directions several pages back.

kerrytaylor 09-07-2011 07:34 PM

You actually have to click the link once you're in the Russian site. But nope, don't like it. The pattern makes my eyes or head hurt. ..

pjnesler 09-07-2011 07:37 PM

Wow, that's quite a pattern. I don't think I'd try it, but I bet if it was hanging at a quilt show it would get LOTS of attention!

T. 09-07-2011 10:01 PM

the link looks like this: http://www.lerusisik.narod.ru/images...tedpattern.pdf
you may even be able to click on this to get there.

Mine too! It gives me the heebie--jeebies! I'll bet it would be interesting when completed.

malfromcessnock 09-08-2011 12:03 AM

It's a crazy design. I think it's in Russian.

Does anyone have an English version?

Could be interesting to try when I have a bit more experience.

What do you mean by all the "foundations" are provided? I have looked at it and the illustrations are clear, but with little quilting knowledge at the moment would find it impossible. I'd need to have a few more directions in order for me to get my head around it.

ConnieF 09-08-2011 12:23 AM

The link didnt open for me either went to a foren site

I've had a good look at it now and consider it would be possible even for a novice like me.

MTS posted a clear procedure on page 3 or 4 and the pattern is so well laid out.

Eliebelle 09-08-2011 02:54 AM

there is a key to get the page translated into English, but it makes no difference - TOO HARD and it gave me a headache looking at it! I would LOVE to see what some of you really talented quilters could do with it!

wooh---dizzy!! but wild and beautiful-that would be a challenge....

heather1949 09-08-2011 03:38 AM

No Yuk I don't like it all, although someone must have liked it to design it.

oldcottontop 09-08-2011 04:27 AM

What a quilt...but hurts my eyes looking at it.

What's your thought on the tumbling blocks?

Tumbling blocks are much, much less visually challenging. The illusion of movement or the stacking of the blocks that present themselves as dimensional is something that young children ignore until they are "ready" to see it. They will discover it later. A child that is of 5, 6 or 7 can actually create the tumbling blocks pattern with parquetry blocks, common in pre-K, kindergarten and early elementary classrooms, and explain what is happening. It is a great discovery for them and they love it. Much less visually and mentally complicated than the "bubble" illusion.

Vicki Anne 09-08-2011 05:42 AM

There is an option to translate in the upper right hand corner....I have never seen this one.

emlee51 09-08-2011 10:50 AM

Not my style of quilt......
