That's exactly what I was thinking - purple! Maybe even a little darker shade than the one on the quilt top. C9P

Ditto

Raggiemom 07-02-2011 04:23 AM

I like it without.

susie-susie-susie 07-02-2011 04:30 AM

I agree with everyone else. Save the brown for another project. The darker purple will really set the quilt off. Very pretty quilt, by the way.

No brown.

Rose Bagwell 07-02-2011 04:59 AM

I agree, w/o the brown.

Homespun 07-02-2011 05:04 AM

my vote: leave out the brown border!

Diane C. 07-02-2011 05:04 AM

With out the brown. I had to laugh when I saw your question though. I think you meant borders, not boarders! We all make our share of spelling mistakes on the computer, me too! Diane C

Without the brown

jellybeans 07-02-2011 05:33 AM

THE TOP ONE - NO BROWN PLEASE

Shorebird 07-02-2011 05:52 AM

WITHOUT....IMHO, this detracts from what is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL quilt.

Tudey 07-02-2011 05:53 AM

without

OHSue 07-02-2011 05:56 AM

I think you need something, but the brown isn't it.

katlady3 07-02-2011 05:57 AM

I would use purple & not the brown

smagruder 07-02-2011 06:01 AM

Without for sure.... I love it though... have a preference for purples too. It is soooooo cooling.

gramarraine 07-02-2011 06:04 AM

Without the brown, purple would be nice. Beautiful quilt.

No Brown, i like the purple idea.

crazyquilter56 07-02-2011 06:27 AM

you need something to separate the border from the quilt put the darker purple you have on the stars in the middle then it ties all the colours together. Very nice job...

grannypat7925 07-02-2011 06:31 AM

Don't think it really needs the brown.

flowerjoy 07-02-2011 06:47 AM

I rather like it with the brown...but I seem to have preferences for structure and symmetry. It is beautiful either way.

triplerosa 07-02-2011 06:49 AM

without the brown, I'm with the purple

Ditto, sorry that brown is not a good choice, in your pic anyway.

brewsa 07-02-2011 07:10 AM

Without the brown.

Pat G 07-02-2011 07:31 AM

I agree with many others about using a sm. purple border next to the quilt pattern. It frames your quilt. It's like matting it before the borders.

Agree!.

Without the brown. Beautiful quilt.

JANNY 07-02-2011 07:59 AM

no brown. A small border of the purple would fit nicely.

Drew 07-02-2011 08:18 AM

Without brown, please!

you can email it to me privately if you like. [email protected]

You can find this pattern free at www.maryquilts.com

Check out all her free patterns along the left side. GREAT site! This quilt is 'churn dash and stars'. I sent her a picture of mine, and she put it on the bottom of that page!

glenda 07-02-2011 08:37 AM

Definitely without the brown. Since this is bugging me, let me say borders are spelled without an a. Boarders are people who stay at your house and you feed. That's my rant for the day. Very pretty quilt. glenda

No brown. Purple would be pretty.

AnnaF 07-02-2011 09:34 AM

I would use the darker lavendar/purple that is in the stars for the first narrow border, then the light lavendar and green binding.. JMHO

mmdquilts 07-02-2011 09:37 AM

Both will be beautiful but for myself I would omit the brown

The brown is okay, but I would agree with LindaM ~ a purple would 'play better' with your quilt.

Me too!

I agree with this idea myself. Not too fond of the brown with it.

mzmama 07-02-2011 09:49 AM

Without the brown.

maryp 07-02-2011 10:02 AM

without the brown

Farm Quilter 07-02-2011 10:02 AM

Use a 1.5" strip of the dark purple in your quilt in place of the brown. With no brown in the quilt, the brown looks a bit out of place, but the purple would set it off to a tee! Beautiful quilt!!!
