Can you use that area for the vein of some feathers? You would be sewing over it a few times, and it may cover it up. If the veins are longer, that portion can be more straight. :D:D:D

Feathers are a bit grown up for this quilt. It's a child's quilt, done in bug fabrics in the center. There's no pin in there, though that would've been an easy fix. It's a flaw in the weave, like what CoventryUK said. I'm trying to think of a way and looking for suggestions on the best way to quilt over it. Really not sure.

That is a good thought, Coventry. I'll call DH's aunt and see what she thinks. It's so much harder when it's not your quilt but someone else's.

Take your fingernail and gently stroke the snag from the end of the 'bump' towards the center, where the snag tail is. You may be able to manipulate some of the thread back into the weave to make it less noticeable.

 double post

A flower - bugs like flowers. I made mine with five or six petals then went in concentric cirles for the center. If the center was at the snag and the side of a petal was on the disturbed line, it should disappear.

A small applique over it will cover all. If someone asks about it, just say it's your way of signing the quilt.

Would it be possible to put a few appliques scattered around the border and use one to cover the snag? I think that is what I would do... good luck

I think this natural flaw in the fabric is just part of the quilt. Pull the snag to the back as suggested and some kid will love the bugs and not notice the "flaw". natural silk has this type of texture throughout the fabric and no one crys "flaw" at that. Don't worry to much over this very minor imperfection. Have fun at the craft fair!
