may company come when you were all set to sew - and they won't go home!

may your family become more helpless than usual and "only" you can take care of whatever

Oh Cathyvv, that is the funniest, ever.

I think i've received all your curses now, so you can stop. Just kidding. I thought these were right on the money. It would take forever to curses on one side and blessings on the other, but that would be a good idea that someone above mentioned.

May your scissors drop on the floor point down half inch into the hardwood floor.
May your iron scorch a brown patch on your appliqued block.
May your favorite thimble fall down the furnace duct.

May you iron your fusible applique on the wrong side.
May what you thought was great quality flannel pill-a-plenty.
May your panels be diamond shaped.

May you find your iron blinking like an airport runway in middle of night because you failed to unplug it .

May you not see the last block needed to complete the top fall down between the cabinet and the wall, and you have no more of the material.

May your threads always be tangled and all your needles dull.

May your stash be plentiful, and your bobbin always full.

We still use that phrase and laugh at it.

Love it! When my kids came home with the 'standard' juvenile curse words we suggested a different route. Instead of 'you're really stupid' they went to school with 'don't be a fatuous fool' and 'an inane ninny is not clever' They were deemed much cooler inside of two days, while the other kids had to go home to parents who had to look up some new words. LOL

It is an interesting idea, though.

I like this idea! Especially "May you always be physically and mentally able to sew. As I age and with arthritis this would be a real blessing. Thanks for your uplifting message.
