I like the keepsake box idea, too.

I can well relate - my 3rd child was born in 1988 with a hole in her heart and a missing Aorta. The doctors did not tell me until later, but she had a near zero chance of surviving the surgery. She did. Two years later, the hole in her heart had closed up and they had to make a bigger patch for her aorta. The person at the hospital, said she had a 96 per cent chance of surviving - she did not. Thank heavens, my MIL had dear friends who wanted to give my MIL a present of pictures of my 3 girls for Christmas and had taken pictures 2 days before she went into the hospital. I cherish those pictures and would suggest a picture album. It can be looked at "when you can" and be put away when you cannot. BTW, whenever I am having trouble threading a needle, I ask Patti to help - she does!

I have no ideas for you but I wanted you to know that I will pray for your friend. It has been 40 years since I lost my little Ruth Ann at 4 days old and I so regreat no having pictures.

So sorry for your friend and her families suffering. Sending prayers their way

My friend lost twin boys who were born just a couple of weeks short of being able to survive. Her mother made two Christmas ornaments, one for each child, and added their names and date of birth.
She takes the ornaments out every Christmas and hangs them on the tree. This way everyone remembers them and celebrates their short lives. That was about 15 years ago and now she has other children too. |
My heart goes out to all that has or will lose a child. Love and prayers to all of you.

A small wall hanging, maybe an enlarged block to say 16 inches with the child's name and info when born. If you want, you could put a comforting verse on it, "Asleep in God's Arms" or something like that. The internet is full of those sayings.
