Making a Christmas present for my 12 year old grandson. I've got the quilt put together, but for the life of me can't think of a "fun" backing. Spent 1 hour looking on a fabric website and couldn't find fabric that inspired me. I have at least 2 yards of the Route 66 print left, but it's not enough to completely cover the back. Any ideas? I seem to be at a loss here. |
Add a border around the two yards with a solid color. Nice quilt!

I have seen map fabric which would be cute. I think I just saw some at Joann's last week.

Just wanted to say that your quilt is great. I'm sure your GS will love it no matter what you put on the back.

Great looking quilt! A very lucky boy.

ditto ... scrappy back using your route 66 fabric
Or if you want a change there is fabric that has road signs on it. And what about a total change? How about the fabric that looks like clouds as that way you could keep the blue and white coodinating on the back. Or ocean waves. |
i like the map fabric idea. and also that is a very nice quilt. a very lucky boy indeed...

I bought some black & white checked, looks like the checker flag at a race, can also be used as a giant checkers game. Good luck, I'm sure you'll get ideas and I think yoru quilt is great
