I love them both. either would be great. I think it depends on how much you want to put in it. Im thinking the first one would be quicker and easier.

JuneD 03-19-2011 04:07 AM

I like #1. You could fussy cut alphabet letters, maybe turn it into an I Spy. Though I do like #2 as well.

GABBYABBY 03-19-2011 04:27 AM

Number 2. That is just my opinion.

jtquilts 03-19-2011 04:38 AM

I am drawn to #2. Congrats on the new GD!

Weenween 03-19-2011 04:38 AM

#1

aorlflood 03-19-2011 04:42 AM

I like #2 best.

coffeegirl 03-19-2011 04:53 AM

Definitely #2.
You didn't really think all these differing opinions was really going to help you, did you? LOL!

LindaJR 03-19-2011 05:08 AM

I like number 1. Number 2 is nice too but like the less busy number one.

MillieMoseley 03-19-2011 05:17 AM

I think I like #1 best

karenpatrick 03-19-2011 05:32 AM

I like #1 better. No. 2 seems a little busy to me. Just my opinion.

So I'll pick the second, where the pieced sashing kills/dilutes the amount of white. ;)

A few years ago, after my dh's grandmother died and left a few quilts that she had made, that people who buy antique quilts, love quilts with lots of white in them. They go with everything, i guess. So I make some with white backgrounds if I'm giving them to someone that I think will take care of them and keep them in the family for a long time. Hopefully, they'll be worth some money oh in say a 100 years or more. LOL!!!

#2

jellybeans 03-19-2011 05:42 AM

THE TOP ONE!

EagarBeez 03-19-2011 05:54 AM

I say #1, #2 is a bit busy and takes away from the main blocks. I would put small blocks in each corner between your main blocks

I like this idea. I think there is a lot of white in the sashing, but the little squares on #2 make it very busy. But either quilt would be lovely and much loved!

NanaSews 03-19-2011 06:01 AM

I prefer #1. Not sure why!! Less busy I guess!

sueven 03-19-2011 06:13 AM

I also like #1 the best

pojeda 03-19-2011 06:15 AM

I like them both, but I think #1 would be better.

quiltsRfun 03-19-2011 06:23 AM

Thanks everybody. I think I'm going with #2. I'll post it when it's finished. Haven't started yet cause I just ordered the fabric.

pollym44 03-19-2011 06:25 AM

#2

mhansen6 03-19-2011 06:35 AM

Oh My. I can't choose they are both lovely. Looks like you may have to buy another layer cake and make both. Flip a coin to choose which one.

GramaLaura 03-19-2011 06:38 AM

#1.....it has a softer look :-D

Drew 03-19-2011 06:44 AM

I think No. 1 as it is less busy, but I do like both.

ledraj 03-19-2011 06:49 AM

I like #1, it is a little more unusual that the squares on #2.
I find that more interesting.

atvrider 03-19-2011 06:53 AM

Number 1 looks the best to me.

sewbizgirl 03-19-2011 06:59 AM

I LOVE Giddy! I think the first layout works better. The second is just a little too busy in the sashing...

mzsooz 03-19-2011 07:20 AM

Can you make both? I LOVE both of them!!

sewTinker 03-19-2011 07:22 AM

I like #1. Adds a lot of interest, and looks like tile.

dgreen 03-19-2011 07:27 AM

# 2 looks happier

Cinderella 03-19-2011 07:39 AM

I like them both but the second one was my initial reaction.

blhaines 03-19-2011 07:39 AM

I say use the both - use #1 with the sashing of #2. Where the sashing color mets up with the block little square, those colors would match. Aren't you glad you asked? It will be nice, whichever way you choose.

FarmStitcher 03-19-2011 07:48 AM

I think No. 1. The little blocks around the center squares draw your eye into the floral blocks. On the second one you see mainly the sashing and it is a bit busy. Definately No.1. Nice balance to it. Very pretty.

mzzzquilts 03-19-2011 07:52 AM

My vote is #2!

Jean Fry 03-19-2011 08:08 AM

I like number 2.

KathyE 03-19-2011 08:13 AM

I love both of them but I think I like #2 the best.

Passionate Quilter 03-19-2011 08:47 AM

I like #2.

Tweety2911 03-19-2011 09:38 AM

I like # 1 best.

koko 03-19-2011 09:39 AM

I love them both but if I had to pick only one I guess I'd lean towards #2

Wish I knew how to use EQ7 better!!

CarolLady 03-19-2011 10:34 AM

I like the first one the border makes the bigger blocks kind of pop, where on the second one the bigger blocks get kind of lost.
And I am a scrappy kind of person so don't ask me why I picked #1...

angelarose 03-19-2011 10:47 AM

I really like #2! It seems more put together, don't ask me to explain. The small squares remind me of mosaic...a rich look.
Happy quilting and hug your grand daughter for me. Grand babies are just that...grand.
